Updates

I finally got some pictures posted. I will try to add text to them soon, but don't hold your breath for it to be this week! I posted almost two pages of pictures so everyone could see their growth, sorry some of them are out of order. When you are trying to do blogging between naps and all other stuff, you take what you can get!

Here is Adriana's summary:

She rolled over March 30 to her tummy and took another two weeks to figure out how to go to her back. She got her first tooth on Memorial day and now has a second tooth poking through. She loves to jump on your lap and clap. She waves and shakes her head no a lot :) She likes to dance to music and pull glasses and hair anytime she can get her hands on them!

And Brooklyn:
Brooklyn rolled over a day later on March 31 and figured out how to roll back the next day, thush rolling all over the house for the last few months. She can get anywhere she wants to go with no problem. She likes to make her fish face at you and is just figuring out waving. She is on her elbows and knees crawling but not quite on her hands yet. I'm sure it wont' be long though.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Big Girls!

We are practicing sitting up now. We love our Bumbos :)

Adriana loves to sit up with us at the dinner table and blow bubbles at everyone.

Hospital Pictures - Finally!

The hospital just sent us confirmation on the girls' birth pictures. If you would like to go look at them, here are their access codes:

I can't believe they were ever that small (and those were actually taken at about 3 weeks. They couldn't do their pictures when they were born becuase they were on IV's, monitors, feeding tubes...)

Four Months

At four and a half months, Brooklyn weighs more than Adriana, but Adriana is longer.

As of January 26, 2009: Brooklyn weighs in at 15 lbs and Adriana is 14 lbs 9 oz.

Both girls have distinct personalities at this point. Adriana is the quiet play by herself and be happy type, Brookly likes to have the attention on her and wants someone to be playing with her always. Both of them love to talk. Adriana will talk and goo and yell. Brooklyn is our little giggler.

One of Brooklyn's favorite things to do is to get dressed. I have no idea why, but this makes her giggle even more. Putting her arms through her clothes is so funny to her!

Adriana loves her little red monkey toy. She carries the monkey everywhere and talks to it.

Brooklyn hates to be buckled in her carseat. Adriana cries at strangers.

Three months

Adriana: 13 lbs, Brooklyn: 13 lbs 1 oz! Brooklyn is Phat! So the "little" sister is now just the "younger" sister!

Brooklyn has been sleeping through the night, about 6-8 hours a night. Adriana still gets up about every 3-4 hours to eat, but with only feeding one, I can usually get back to bed fairly quickly (if she decides she doesn't want to play at 3am!)

Both have discovered they love to look at lights, especailly Christmas lights.

Brooklyn loves to talk, Adriana likes to yell!

Two Months

This was our first family picture together. We took the girls to a studio and had their first "official" pictures done. Both girls are wearing newborn clothes now. Adriana wieghs in at 9 lbs 9 oz and is 21" long. Brooklyn wieghs in at 9 lbs 5.5 oz and is 20.5" long.

One Month

These were taken one day while they were in their crib. Brooklyn was still wearing preemie clothes at this point (she is on the right). I think it is adorable how Adriana is reaching for her nose. It was common for me to tell Brooklyn to "stop eating your sister!"

Adriana: 6 lbs 13 oz, 18.75" long
Brooklyn: 5 lbs 15.5 oz, 18.5" long

Robert put Brooklyn in a basket to see how small she was still at one month.

This was Adriana's first bath at home.

Time spent in the NICU.

Adriana is always on the left and Brooklyn is always on the right. That is how they were labeled Baby A and Baby B in the hospital.

At this point, both girls had their IV's taken out but still had to have feeding tubes in.

Both girls had to be under the lights for jaundice. They had velcro sunglasses to their heads.

What we went through at the hospital.

This was mommy's first time seeing us after we were taken to the NICU by daddy. We had to stay on warming beds.

Then we had to stay in isolete's for awhile to learn to keep our bodies warm.

Our first day in our crib at the hospital together.

In order for us to go home, we had to pass a car seat test. So the nurse strapped us in our car seats with all our monitors on and we had to sit there for an hour! If we had any "episodes" (heart or breathing rates change) then we couldn't go home! Luckily we breathe and beat well!
